Lawang Sewu in Indonesian language means Thousand Doors. That’s because the building has lots of large Windows and doors of the ancient style. The building is the design architect of Citroen C Netherlands Firm JF Klinkhamer and B.J. Quendag in 1903 and was completed in 1907. The building was originally for offices Nederlands-Indische Spoorweg Maatschappij or NIS, Netherlands railways.
THE UNIQUENESS OF ARCHITECTURAL BUILDING A DUTCH-STYLE LAWANG SEWU

On 5 July 2011, Lawang Sewu official passed to tourist attractions by the first lady Ani Bambang Yudhoyono who at that time was still serving as President Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
